Highlights:
Gabon
Set on the equator, Gabon is stunningly beautiful and one of the world’s top destinations for ecotourism. Currently, its oil and mineral reserves, combined with a small population, have helped Gabon become one of Africa’s wealthiest countries.
São Tomé & Principe
The secluded islands of Sao Tome and Principe, like tiny jewels, open up into the crystal clear waters off the coast of Gabon.
Its popular tradition, a hybrid culture between colonial legacies and the customs and traditions of a peaceful and welcoming population.
Republic of Congo
known as The Congo, and not to be confused with neighbouring DRC, is a hidden green land of hot and steamy equatorial forest. Part of the larger Congo Basin, the rainforest is the second largest in the world as well as forest elephant, buffalo and rare bongo shelter among its ferns. But the biggest draw is the western lowland gorilla, and intrepid travellers who make the journey are rewarded with the most thrilling of sightings.
Cameroon
Between the mighty Congo basin and the Atlantic Ocean lies a land of untainted equatorial rainforest where rare primates still roam, and local people pass on timeless skills in villages that are little changed for centuries. To roam through the wonderful landscape and befriend the welcoming people of Cameroon is an experience that immerses you in the vibrant culture.
Central Africa Republic
The geographical heart of Africa, the cultural home of unchanged ancestral traditions and the environmental jewel of a nature, the Central African Republic, has unfortunately suffered for too many years from an instability that prevents it from being visited in its entirety.
Equatorial Guinea
One of the most unusual and unlikely corners of Africa. A tiny nation split between island of Bioko and the mainland, it’s best known for oil and coup attempts. For many years the country was close to tourism and the only people allowed in were connected to oil and gas. Like most of Central Africa, the country doesn’t have an established trail to follow but there’s a sense of excitement in being amongst the first to start exploring the country.
