Dechenphu Tshechu is a traditional Bhutanese religious festival held annually at Dechenphu Temple in Thimphu. It honors Genyen Jagpa Melen, a powerful local guardian deity. The festival features sacred masked dances (Cham) performed by monks, attracting locals who seek blessings and celebrate Bhutanese culture. Smaller and more intimate than major festivals, it offers visitors an authentic spiritual and cultural experience in a sacred setting.
